Alternative solutionsAlternative solutions are offered in many countries. We hereby explain what the alternative solutions are and in which ways Aerox can offer you a practical choise. Wash towers / ScrubbersGood alternative to wash out the odour molecules especially applicable in case of easily in water soluable molecules and higher organic concentrations. Adding chemicals like acids can improve the efficiency. Disadvantage: the usage and disposal of waste water and chemicals and required space and the system might not removing difficult in water soluable molecules like smelling oil or fatty molecules sufficiently. The combination with an Aerox-Injector can result in a very efficient two –steps odour control system. BiofilterGood alternative for continuously operating processes and higher organic concentrations. All smelling air stream is treated at low air velocity and due to this huge space area will be required compared to the small Aerox-Injector. Also different is that the Aerox units can be switched on and off easily (automatically / remote) or run at lower capacity to save energy / money in case of less smelling production runs. Adsorption / chemisorptionActivated carbon can reduce the odour by physical adsorption or in case of applying impregnated carbon by chemisorption. IncineratorFrom the technical point of view the best odour control system, since all odour is burned completely, while for instance the Aerox-Injector partly oxidizes the odour at low temperature and achieves 60 –95% efficiency and never the 100%. Ozone generatorsAlternative technology for odour control, consuming more energy and emitting remaining ozone. Aerox company started some 12 – 14 years ago with an ozone generator but found out that ozone is less active and requires more contact time and higher stacks for effective odour reduction and therefore Aerox company developed the Aerox-Injector generating the very fast reacting oxygen radicals and water vapour radicals, based on cold plasma or NTP. |
