Mitas, a rubber tyre factory in Praque, Czech faced odour complaints for many years. The factory was built in the thirties by Michelin, outside the city. Over the years the factory grew, as did the city of Praque. High flats were built close to the factory and this unfortunately led to odour complaints.
85% reduction of rubber smell
Mitas tested several odour control technologies. None of these solutions gave them enough confidence to implement in their production process. In 2005, Aerox carried out a pilot test with very promising results. With two compact Aerox-Injectors we were able to treat a total airflow of 60,000 m3/h, coming from two mixing lines, and achieve a reduction of 85% of the rubber smell.
In 2005, Mitas organized a meeting with their neighbours, the environmental authorities and the local major to present our environmentally friendly solution. The contract was signed a week later. Once installed, an independent measuring company proved the performance and efficiency of the Aerox-Injectors.
